  1. Vassiliy Ivanovich Chapayev, an illiterate Red Army hero during the Russian Civil War, is portrayed as a noble protector of the common people and a brave soldier. After the revolution, he forms his own force to fight the White Russians. A stirring account of a beloved hero of the Russian Revolution and Stalin's favorite propaganda film.
