- Documentary on the life and career of Aline Bernstein, scenic and costume designer. Outlines her early years as the daughter of an actor who died when she was a child, her art studies and social activism, and her work with the Neighborhood Playhouse, a pioneering Off-Broadway theater company with whom she was affiliated in the 1920s. Also touches upon her later work, her teaching, and her relationship with author Thomas Wolfe. Includes photos and excerpts from interviews with two associates who knew Bernstein.
