Description
  1. 2 videodiscs (NTSC) : sd., col.; 4 3/4 in.
Summary
  1. This play combines various visual and aural elements. The mundane and the momentous are given equal prominence - a woman carrying a heavy suitcase through a departure lounge and man walking for the first time on the moon. The collage shifts back and forth from cave man to spaceman, with odd stops along the way. There are recurrent motifs - the sound of ships' bells, the roar of a crowd, inscriptions on tombstones. Eventually the play settles in a politically disrupted Far Eastern country, a Cambodia of the mind where tourists idle while violence erupts. There are projections, both still and cinematic, dance-like movement, sounds, and actors in live performance, on film and in silhouette as in shadow puppetry.
