Summary
  1. Carl Seltzer interviews Eubie Blake, African American composer, lyricist, and pianist of ragtime, jazz, and popular music. Blake discusses early Charleston rag music and his influences such as Scott Joplin and Irving Berlin. He talks about his life and family background and reminisces about various episodes from his musical career and musicians he worked with. The composer also speaks about his long-time collaborator Noble Sissle and their Broadway hit-musical Shuffle Along (1921), and about his plans for the near future.
