- Musical sketches played on piano, with commentary by the composer, who introduces the tape, comments on sections of the music, provides musical counts, and describes the recording as "only a rough sketch, a bare-bones outline." This score was probably composed for Jerome Robbins's 1959 ballet Moves.

- In 1959, Aaron Copland composed a score in seven movements, titled Dance panels, for Jerome Robbins's ballet Moves. The score was not ultimately used, and the ballet was danced in silence. Robbins choreographed two ballets to scores by Aaron Copland, The pied piper (1951) and Quiet city (1986), and directed Copland's opera The tender land, in 1954.
