Summary
  1. Panel discussion on how playwrights and the theater community have responded to the AIDS epidemic. Panelists examine plays such as Larry Kramer's The normal heart, Joseph Pintauro's The raft of the Medusa, Paula Vogel's The Baltimore waltz, and Scott McPherson's Marvin's room, and look at how each playwright has approached the crisis. They consider factors surrounding the production of these and other related plays, along with the issue of homophobia, and also discuss the treatment of the epidemic in the mass media.
