Biography (note)
  1. Michael Cooper, a celebrated British photographer (the staff photographer for Vogue), was best known for his numerous photographs of rock stars, especially the Rolling Stones, from the mid-1960s until his death. His most famous work is the album cover for the Beatles' 1967 Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. He also shot the cover of the Rolling Stones' 1967 Satanic Majesties album and was a close friend of Rolling Stone guitarist Keith Richards. He worked with novelist/screenwriter Terry Southern (whose papers are in the Berg Collection) on the original screenplay adaptation, unproduced, of the Anthony Burgess novel A Clockwork Orange, in which Mick Jagger was to have played the role of Alex and the other Rolling Stones band members were to have played his gang of "droogs."
