- The book comprises 40 pairs of facing pages of images on the left and texts on the right.
- Most of the texts were inspired by the Yorkshire Dales; below some of the texts are typographical and verbal jokes by Phillips.
- The book's 40 b&w images were derived by Tom Phillips from old photographs; Phillips also designed the dust jacket.
- Erratum states: "As a result of a disagreement between the publishers and one of the authors over the design of this book, the publishers have decided not to publish it. Before this decision was reached 120 copies were bound, which are being distributed to friends of Trigram Press."
