Sommer about her long association with Brooklyn College; her class entitled Elements of performing; the students [in her classes] at Brooklyn College; Koner's choreography including the renewed interest in her style of modern dance; her belief in the need for structure or form in dance; her association with the José Limón Dance Company as a guest artist and the influence of Doris Humphrey on her choreography; Koner's choreographic method prior to her association with José Limón and Doris Humphrey; music as a primary creative impulse; her transition from choreographing solos to choreographing for a company; her difficulties in obtaining funding and appropriate performance spaces for her company [Pauline Koner Dance Consort]; [short gap]; more on the difficulties of obtaining funding; maintaining her individual style of choreography including her conscious effort to be unique; her reluctance to choreograph for other companies; her favorite works, including Solitary songs and A time of crickets; her solo The farewell, which she made as her tribute to Doris Humphrey; her company's dancers [ends abruptly but continues on disc 2].
