Summary
  1. This collection contains eight short films directed by David Weissman. The first and second films, "The short, short trailer" (0:30 each; 1st in black in white, 2nd in color), are a parody of "I Love Lucy" ("I love movies"), as an advertisement of the 19th annual San Francisco International Lesbian and Gay Film Festival, held at the Castro and Victoria Theater on June 9-18, [1995]. The third film, "Complaints" (5:00), features a comedic musical bit of various performers singing about their personal complaints. The fourth film, "Beauties without a cause" (7:00), features The Fabulous Four Beauties, a crazy drag queen team of four ladies causing mayhem and mischief, while they terrorize a fifth lady. The fifth film, "976" (2:30), Michael calls up a gossip line, "976-DISH" and talks to Lulu. The sixth film, "Song from an angel" (5:00), features the last performance of actor Rodney Price performing the song "Less time than you" (lyrics: Janice Sukaitis ; piano: "Scrumbly" Koldewyn ; melody adapted with permission from Kurt Weill's "One life to live"), who "was a founding member of the Angels of Light ... in October 1987, Rodney Price was diagnosed with AIDS". According to David Weissman's website, Price passed away two weeks after filming. The seventh film, "HIV: un-infected = [unequal] un-affected" are a series of public service announcements in 1996 of HIV prevention which were groundbreaking for addressing both emotional and psychological stresses that HIV-infected gay men face in the wake of their disease. The eighth and last film, "JFF Trailer" (0:30) was an advertisment for the 17th annual San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, held July 17-August 4, [1991] at various venues in the area.
