Description
  1. 2 streaming video files (166 min.) : sound with silent sections, color.
Summary
  1. Mikhail Baryshnikov and White Oak Dance project in rehearsal and performance. Volume I consists of rehearsal footage, starting with the musicans, then Baryshnikov, and finally the entire company. This recording includes shots of the empty auditorium, technicians, and the venue's cleaning staff. Severe audio problems impede the ability to discern musical works or dialogue. While there are sections of light static, the main issue is that the sound runs faster than the action and is out of synch with the visual track. Volume I audio track stops completely at 46:07. Volume II audio is fine; contrary to the videocassette label, Spanish dialogue and venue announcements indicate a venue other than Sadler's Wells. Visuals pick up with cleaning staff and continue on through the final curtain call. Visual quality is fine overall, although footage of Baryshnikov during "Chaconne" looks fuzzy and skin tones seem discolored. There are occasional 'jump cuts' in the tape, as if the camera turned off for a second.
