- Lee Edward Stern, host of the radio program Speaking of dance, introduces his guest Agnes de Mille; in response to Stern's questions regarding her book Speak with me, dance with me, De Mille speaks with Stern about loneliness and the female creative artist including as examples Martha Graham as well as herself; her experience working in London [in the 1930s], in particular why it was so rewarding artistically; Marie Rambert, the Mercury Theatre and some of the artists De Mille met there including Alicia Markova, Frederick Ashton, and Antony Tudor; her book [Speak with me, dance with me]; the pedantry of much arts criticism; her work Three virgins and a devil including the circumstances of its creation and the cast; Jerome Robbins as a dancer; Dennis Nahat in the role of the Devil; her touring company Heritage Dance Theatre; her experience with the musical Oklahoma; her work for the musical Nymph errant; Antony Tudor.
