Summary
  1. With the discovery of a personal collection of Sandrine and Jean Nicollier, the authors examine the influence of Habert-Dys on decorative arts as well as his contribution to Pillivuyt, a porcelain manufacturing company founded in 1818, but progressive in the new styles of late 19th century art. The importance of art nouveau visible in Habert-Dys' work and his fascination with Japanese ideas are discussed within the context of the world of ceramics and its main actors at the time of the 1889 Parisian Exposition Universelle.
