- Eight reviews of Every Brilliant Thing by Duncan Macmillan. Before the performance begins, actor Jonny Donahoe distributes pieces of paper with a number written on each piece. Also on the paper is dialogue to be spoken by the audience member when his number is called. Donahue sometimes improvises a response to whoever just spoke to him. Although the play is about depression, it looks for reasons to live, not reasons to die. Opened Dec. 14, 2014, at Barrow Street Theatre, 27 Barrow Street, New York, N.Y.
- Reviewed by The New York Times, Time Out New York, The Wall Street Journal, New York Post, Daily News, The New Yorker, Gay City News, and The Village Voice. There are also two feature stories in The New York Times. Another feature story is about the television version in 2016.
