1. "Os caranguejos utilizados na confecçâo deste atlas provieram das baías de Antonina e Guaratuba, localizadas no litoral paranaense, região sul do Brasil. Todas as coletas foram feitas diretamente das tocas, por catadores da região, e os caranguejos transportados vivos até o laboratório. Ao chegar ali, os espécimes foram inspecionados, para o descarte de eventuais indivíduos mortos ou com lesões que pudessem comprometer a qualidade do estudo. Todas as fotografias e fotomicrografias foram realizadas pela equipe do Grupo Integrado de Aquicultura e Estudos Ambientais da Universidade Federal do Paraná."--
2. The crabs used to make this atlas came from the Antonina and Guaratuba bays, located on the coast of Paraná, southern Brazil. All the collections were made directly from the burrows, by scavengers from the region, and the live crabs transported to the laboratory. Upon arriving there, the specimens were inspected, for the disposal of eventual individuals dead or with lesions that could compromise the quality of the study. All the photographs and photomicrographs were taken by the team of the Integrated Group of Aquaculture and Environmental Studies of the Federal University of Paraná. -- translated from publisher website.
