Programs (1927-1942) for Bird in hand by John Drinkwater documenting the original production and two revivals by the Birmingham Repertory Theatre as well as productions in London, on Broadway, and regionally in the United States. Of note are performances in Queens and in Brooklyn at the Brighton Beach Theatre.
  2. Item 2, a program for the 1928 production at the Royalty Theatre (London), contains a ticket for a seat in the Dress Circle.
  3. Item 5, a program for the 1929 production at the Morosco Theatre (N.Y.), contains Alec Waugh's London letter, on the spring theatrical season.
  4. Item 6, a program for the 1929 production at the Morosco Theatre (N.Y.), contains Stella Hanau's article The last of the Indian braves, on "aboriginal" or Native American themes in U.S. drama, including an acedote about the playwriting challenge set by Edwin Forrest which inspired John Augustus Stone's Metamora. Also included in this program is Betty Ross's interview with Daniel Frohman, The story of a star maker, which has an illustrated portrait of Frohman.
