- Summary
- Collection depicts aspects of the political and social activities of church minister and Garveyite George A. Weston, from the 1940s to the early 1970s. Weston's wife Maudelle, his personal life and his Garveyite activities are not depicted.
- Collection consists of views of Weston participating in a debate, with political activists Wilfred A. Domingo and Richard B. Moore, and historian J.A. Rogers, held at the 135th Street Y.M.C.A., in Harlem, New York City (1941); visiting one of his Pro-Lad Paint factories, possibly in New York (ca. 1950s); and giving a lecture at Colton Chapel, Lafayette College, Easton, Pennsylvania (1971). Also included is a studio portrait showing Weston with an unidentified child (n.d.); and a studio portrait of Archbishop Reginald Barrow, of the African Orthodox Church, who had ordained Weston.

- George A. Weston, 1885-1973, was originally from Antigua. Beginning in 1919, he was an organizer and official within Marcus Garvey's Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA) during the 1920s and 1930s, and was later an ordained minister in the African Orthodox Church doing missionary work in his native Antigua for much of the mid-1940s to the late 1960s. Maudelle Bass Weston, 1908-1989, George's second wife, was a professional dancer and model.
