Note
First work uses music from Vaughan Williams' film score for the 1947 film "Scott of the Antarctic"; 2nd work is an orchestral suite arr. from his incidental music for Aristophanes' play.
Originally issued on analog discs in 1968 & 1970, respectively.
The vocal parts in the symphony are textless. There are literary superscriptions for each movement, not set, but to be read by the listener, from Shelley, Coleridge, Donne, Psalm 104 & Scott's Antarctic journal.
