Summary

1. Fotobook Liminal bodies is a book that was woven through meetings, testimonies and conversations that the author had with family members who are looking for their loved ones in Mexico, and who in this transit have become search agents. Putting their bodies and risking their lives, these people have consolidated a wide body of knowledge that emerged from another university of life and pain -as expressed by Juan Carlos Trujillo-. Ileana Diéguez starts from that knowledge derived from the search scenarios and places her gaze on the search practices and the evolution of bodies. Liminal bodies is a figure that expresses the superposition of bodies that are configured in those who are looking for their loved ones. The liminal body is a carrier, a fabric of presences and absences, it is a body that shelters and sustains other bodies. Michael de Certeau affirms that all writing is always the consequence of a loss, the indefinite effect of loss and debt. The writing of this book starts from that, and assumes that from writing any desire for accompaniment is insufficient, but through it there is also a search for memory, truth and justice. The author expresses: _I remember a much more distant image, several years ago, when the mothers and later also the fathers and brothers began to walk carrying a photo on her chest. This writing is about those collectives and communitas of searchers, about those liminal bodies. From the performativity of lack, from mothers looking for their sons and daughters, from families in search. Of the walking pietás looking for missing bodies. Of the liminal bodies on the march wishing to embrace those who are missing, of the performativity of the search. Ileana Diéguez also bears witness to her own experience, reflects on what she has participated in, narrates what is difficult to put into words, seeks to make language and gaze enter what emerges from the earth so that it has a place among the living.\pp-.
