- Summary
- Luiz Carlos de Meneses Toledo is a professional who combines these two activities, performing them without dissociation. He produced important research and several projects in the health care area. His work is also marked by sensitivity towards the urban and social problems of a Brazil that is so unequal, unfair and exclusive. This research comes to complement this beautiful work that was started with the volume "Feitos para Curar" that we relaunched in 2020. The central theme addressed in this edition is the architecture of health facilities and its relationship with the principles and approaches of health services humanization, and it has as central focus the analysis of the hospital facility. From a historical overview, the author describes out the changes of hospital medicine practices, which have occurred since the middle of the 20th century, when the objective of healing, a specific issue of the therapeutic hospital, was broadened to the intention of caring, more particular to the modern hospital.
