The 1st work a symphonic poem inspired by Oscar Wilde\u0027s poem; the 2nd work excerpts from the piano work Rencontres, orchestrated by the composer; the 3rd work for orchestra; the 4th work for chorus and orchestra; the 5th work, in part based on music of Elizabethan or post-Elizabethan English composers, principally for orchestra, with solo soprano and women\u0027s voices in the 4th movement, and women\u0027s voices in the 8th.
  2. The 4th work, and the soprano solo of the 5th work are in French; the women\u0027s choruses in the 5th work are wordless.
