- Summary
- Cage asked Patchen to provide a script for a play after being commissioned by CBS Radio. Patchen provided a surreal script about the wanderings of a person through an urban landscape. The play premiered in 1942. Cage aimed to eliminate the distinction between sound effects and music. This edition includes all the spoken text, and is based on the original manuscript and the original broadcast tape.
