- Summary
- Landscape has been at ease as a subject in its own right in European art since the 18th century. 'Kalte Rinden - Seltene Erden' (Cold Crusts - Rare Earths) now brings together twelve positions, which take as their theme the landscape in the contemporary art practice of the 21st century. In this overview, one thing quickly becomes clear in the various artistic media - painting, photography, video, installation - and the very different stylistic methods: as visual content, as a signifier and as an object of perception, the landscape is far removed from an elevated interpretation of reality. The artistic and art-historical updating of an old genre impresses in the constant oscillation between image and medium.0Exhibition: Stadtgalerie Kiel, Germany (6.7.-2.9.2012) / Märkisches Museum Witten, Germany (14.9.-4.11.2012) / Städtische Galerie Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany (18.1.-1.4.2013). 0.
