Memoirs of a Romanian agronomist and journalist who emigrated from the Ukraine to Romania to escape Soviet oppression, later emigrated from Romania to Canada to escape communist persecution, was active in the Romanian emigré anti-communist movement in Canada in the 1980s and 1990s, finally returning to Romania. The final section of the book includes a selection of poems about America by Romanian immigrants.
