- Ain, France, 1937: Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas have escaped from Paris to their château in the French countryside. There, in the company of their dogs Basket and Pepe, and of their Adonis-like gardener Petit Pierre, they can enjoy the crisp air and relaxed lifestyle of their favorite corner of France.
