- Summary
- "The purpose of this book is to introduce a new technique for describing input and output oriented systems. The new technique, known as HIPO - which stands for Hierarchy, plus Input, Process, Output - is used to describe a system in terms of its inputs, outputs, and constituent processes, and places theses functions in a meaningful hierarchy. The significance of the HIPO concept lies in the fact that it is used to describe what a system does, instead of how it does it, and is thereby useful for planning, analysis, and decision making. HIPO can be used for system design, system development, system analysis, and system documentation."--Preface.
