- Summary
- The first chapter is an introduction to the use of chromosomes for botanical studies. The second deals with their relations with classification; the third and fourth with their relations with plant geography and ecology and evolution. In the last three chapters the study of cultivated plants is shown to confirm and sometimes to clarify the same succession of ideas as arise from the study of plants. Part of the fifth chapter is based on the Introduction to chromosome atlas of cultivated plants.
