- Description
- 1 videocassette (33 min.) : sd., b&w; 1/2 in.
- Summary
- The film captures the matchless group feeling of Thelonious Monk Quartet. Shot in a clean northern light that offers a revealing and unfussy look at the players, Monk's famous mannerisms never distract the camera from the music. Close-ups during Rouse's solos show his quick reactions to Monk's provocative accompaniments. Riley's beautiful stick and brush work and Gales' fluid lines are given their appropriate due.
