Summary
  1. Memoirs of the French Jewish historian, whose family stems from Alsace. Pp. 119-243 deal with the World War II period. She and her family lived in Paris until 1942 when the family moved to Grenoble, where Kriegel was involved in the communist resistance movement (Jeune Combat-JC-MOI). Besides biographical facts, the book includes lengthy comments on the Vichy statutes concerning the Jews and on various resistance organizations active during the war.
