- Summary
- A collection of documents, letters, and articles written by Laserstein himself or about him, showing his conflicts with the German legislative system, before and after the Second World War. The introduction (pp. 5-23) includes a short biography of Botho Laserstein, a German jurist, who was expelled from his functions in 1933 because of his Jewish origins, and emigrated to France from where his wife and daughter were deported to extermination camps. Relates his return to Germany after the war, his fight against capital punishment, and other controversies with the juridical system which led to Laserstein's suicide in 1955.
