Pa'fuera!
Pa'fuera! was a radical, gay liberation magazine published in Puerto Rico in the 1970s. The title is a translation of the then-popular gay liberation slogan “Come Out!,” exhorting LGBTQ+ people to come out of the closet and fight for their rights. Come Out! was also the title of New York City’s Gay Liberation Front’s newspaper, also published in the 1970s in the wake of the Stonewall Riots. The gay liberation movement grew rapidly across the United States, building on the 20 years of LGBTQ+ activism that built up to Stonewall; it quickly spread to Latin America and Europe in the 1970s.
